How long does it take to get the item?
If the item is available in-state, then it usually takes about 5 days to 2 weeks. If the item isn't widely available, you may have to wait for it to be checked in at one of the few libraries that has it. We receive in-state van deliveries two times a week. For out-of-state requests, we rely on the postal system, so items may take longer than two weeks. Expect everything to take longer during the winter, as snowy days close libraries and slow deliveries. Books being borrowed from school libraries may be delayed due to school breaks.
Are there any fees involved?
The are two occasions when there might be fees associated with your request. If there is postage associated with sending the book to our library, then it must be paid for by the customer. In addition, some academic libraries charge a lending fee that can range anywhere from $10-$25 or more.
How many items may you request at a time?
You may have three active interlibrary loan requests at a time.
