Book Donations

Have gently used books collecting dust?

Drop off your donations at the donation cart in the entryway of the library any time the library is open. The Friends of the Nashua Public Library use your donations in the following ways: 

  • Friends Book SaleSold in the Friends of the Library’s book sales to raise money for library services, events, and improvements.
  • Placed in Little Free Libraries around Nashua.
  • Distributed at outreach events around the community.

Accepted Donations

  • Books in good condition 
  • Audiobooks
  • CDs and DVDs

Please Do Not Donate

  • Magazines (Except in the library's magazine rack)
  • Encyclopedias
  • Reader’s Digest Condensed books
  • Items in poor condition—mildew odor, yellowed or missing pages, broken bindings
  • Textbooks
  • Travel books more than three years old
  • Dated nonfiction
  • VHS videotapes
  • Cassette tapes
  • Medical or legal references more than three years old.

The Friends have found over the years that these items don’t sell well in their book sales. It is perfectly acceptable to discard a book that you once enjoyed but is no longer in demand or useful.

Magazines

magazine rackThe library keeps a free magazine rack in the entryway. Simply drop off your magazines in that stand for others to enjoy.



Puzzles

Visit the permanent Puzzle Exchange in the Chandler Wing to drop off your puzzles. Please make sure they're not missing pieces!

Monetary Gifts and Other Materials

The Nashua Public Library welcomes gifts of books, other materials, and monetary donations that enhance our collections, services, or facilities as described in the guidelines below.
