Books by Mail

books by mail 001

Books by Mail is a free and convenient service that provides materials to Nashua residents who cannot visit the library because of a physical or visual disability or who are homebound with disabilities.

Materials can be requested by mail, telephone, or electronically. Orders are delivered by the U.S. Postal Service.

What library materials can be checked out?

  • Large Print Books
  • Standard Print Books
  • Magazines
  • Audiobooks in .mp3 and CD format

There is a limit of up to two items per mailing. We're not able to include DVD, Blu-ray or music CDs.

Who chooses the library materials?

Readers can select titles, have Books by Mail staff select materials based on their interests, or a combination of both. When a customer fills out an application, they'll have the opportunity to list their reading preferences.

Enrolling in Books by Mail

Readers can enroll by paper application or by email. Please note that the application does have a section that needs to be filled out by a medical professional.
