As of January 1, 2023 the library does not charge daily late fines for overdue items. However, customers are still responsible for returning items on time.
If you keep your item beyond its due date, we will automatically renew the item for you twice. *The only exception to this is if another customer has a hold on your item.
47 days after your last due date, our system will mark this item as lost. If you have the item, return it and you won’t be charged.
Material Pickup & Return
Items can be returned at:
- The Customer Service Desk
- If there is a line at the desk, feel free to drop your items in the black book return cart
- One of three book drops:
- Court St.
- At the parking lot on Hartshorn Ave.
- In the exterior book drop next to the front doors
Holds can be picked up on the library's main floor next to the Customer Service desk. These items still need to be checked out, so after picking your holds up please visit the Customer Service desk or a self-check kiosk.
Lost or Damaged Items
Replacement fees for lost or damaged materials are the responsibility of the cardholder or parent/legal guardian.
Payments and Refunds
Customers with an outstanding balance of $60.00 or more will not be able to borrow materials until they make payments to reduce the balance to under $60.00.
Fees may be paid in person. Accepted forms of payment are:
- Cash
- Personal Check
Or online:
- Credit or Debit Card.
- *Online payments may be subject to a convenience fee.
No refunds will be issued once a customer has paid the replacement fee for a lost or damaged item.
- What is my PIN number?
-
Your PIN number is usually the four last digits of your phone number.
- Do library cards expire?
-
You'll need to renew your library card every three years. We expire cards to confirm address and contact information. In addition, we have contracts with vendors like Overdrive/Libby that stipulate that users live in our service area. Keeping accounts up-to-date ensures we meet our contractual obligations.
To renew your library card, visit our Circulation Desk with a photo ID. If you have a disability that prevents you from visiting the library, please call 603-589-4600.
- Can my husband or wife use my library card?
-
No. Cardholders must use their own library card to borrow material and are responsible for all material borrowed on their cards. (The only exception is customers under the age o f 12, for whom a parent or legal guardian is responsible.)
Cardholders may give permission for others to pick up their reserved material and museum passes.
