Computer Classes
The library offers a number of librarian-led computer classes. All classes are free and open to everyone. Computers are provided.
Current Classes Offered
Our cloud storage class covers the basic skills you need to access your files from anywhere. A Google account and some experience using it are required.
Build basic computer skills with this introductory class. We'll help you feel comfortable using a mouse and keyboard and teach you the basic elements of Windows and the PC operating system. No experience needed!
Learn how to use Facebook and set up an account. We'll also cover how to control your privacy, "friend" people, post content, and use Messenger.
An email address and basic knowledge of using the internet is required.
Research your ancestry through an introduction to two popular online databases, Ancestry Library Edition and Heritage Quest. You'll gain the skills to search census, death, family records, and full-text books.
Learn how to access library eBooks and digital audiobooks using Libby on your phone, tablet, computer or e-reader. Follow along with your own library card and device, or sit back and take it all in!
Learn how to use the search engine Google for basic internet searching and how to compose and send emails through Gmail.
Learn the basics of the world’s most popular spreadsheet program, including creating, editing and formatting worksheets.
Learn more advanced features and functions of Excel than we cover in our introduction class, including data sorting, graphing, creating tables, and advanced formatting. Basic Excel skills are required.
Learn the basics of Powerpoint, including how to create a basic slide presentation, save and print a presentation, and view a presentation.
Basic Microsoft Word experience is required.
Learn the basics of Microsoft Word, including how to create, open, name, and save documents; use the Word command bar/ribbon; move text; and format in a variety of ways, including size, style, color, and, more.
