Artist Statement
My work represents my aesthetic preferences - I enjoy geometric shapes, bold color palettes, and combining symmetry with asymmetry. I don’t meditate, but for me, laying down shapes and lines of masking tape on canvas is as close as I get to achieving any sort of “inner peace”.
Most of the time I’ll start a project with a basic idea as to what I’m looking to achieve for a final product, but as soon as the creative process starts, my animal brain kicks in and takes over. I’ll let the paintings come together organically, and I like to stay open to any change or direction that the creative process leads me in. My goal is to allow the audience to be able to weave in and out of these geometric worlds that appear on the canvas without me telling them where to go.
My work is primarily spray paint on canvas.
