Family Place Libraries logoThe Nashua Public Library was recently awarded a grant to help it become a certified Family Place Library. The library is striving to become a community center for literacy, early childhood development, parent education and engagement, family support, and information.

Play and Learn Workshops

As part of this effort, the library will offer new Play and Learn Workshops on Tuesdays in October from 10:30 am to 12 noon. Parents or caregivers and their children ages birth to 3 are welcome to register. In the workshops, they will learn how to help their children learn and be able to play with educational toys, meet other families with young children, and talk informally to experts in early literacy, speech and language, child development, nutrition, music, play, and health.

Cuddle Corner

To kick off the Family Place Library initiative, the library has also created a new Cuddle Corner play space in the Children’s Room, with toys and books for children from birth to three years old.
