In April, the Nashua Public Library formally earned its Family Place Library certification.

The goal of Family Place Libraries is to develop family-friendly environments by transforming libraries into community centers for literacy, early childhood development, parent education and engagement, family support, and community information.

For two years the Children’s Room staff has been working toward this honor. Initiatives have included creation of a Cuddle Corner, with toys and books especially for babies; new programs like Play & Learn workshops, Music and Movement, and SunDay FunDays; and additional books, toys, music, and multimedia materials for babies, toddlers, parents, caregivers, and service providers.
