In September the Nashua Public Library welcomed Ashlee Norwood as the new teen librarian.
Ashlee graduated with a master’s degree in library science in 2011. Then, she says, “I promptly left Texas behind to begin my New England adventure.” First stop was Biddeford, Maine, where she worked as a children’s, and then teen, librarian.
Next, “When I was offered the position of youth services librarian in Titusville, Pennsylvania, giving me the chance to work with kids of all ages, I jumped on it!” After learning all she could and building up youth services there, she was ready to move on for an even better opportunity here in Nashua.
“I am very excited to be back in New England and working with teens,” says Ashlee. “I can’t wait to get to know Nashua and come up with fantastic programs and activities teens will enjoy.” She’s well versed in fandoms (being a fangirl herself), but one thing she thoroughly enjoys is learning what teens are passionate about. So if you’re between ages 12 and 17, stop into the Teen Room and share all the awesome things you’re interested in!
