Bring your loose change to the Nashua Public Library and enter our penny poll.
Toss your coins into the jar for your candidate for mayor of Nashua, Chris Williams or Jim Donchess. The results will be tallied before Election Day (Tuesday, November 3) and reported here.
Since 2004, Nashua Public Library presidential-election penny polls have been (somewhat) predictive of election results: In 2012 and 2008, donations for Barack Obama beat out those for Mitt Romney and John McCain. In 2004, John Kerry won the penny poll, and, well . . . he lost–but he did carry New Hampshire in the real election!
All proceeds from our penny polls go to the Friends of the Library, so everyone wins. The penny polls have raised a total of more than $800 since 2004.
Don’t forget to vote for real, on Tuesday, November 3. Polls are open from 6 am to 8 pm. Click here for more information about the candidates, poll locations, and voter registration.
